1920’s immersive event in Paris

As we are still sitting here in our feathers in lock down we thought it was about time to start telling you about some fabulous events that we were lucky enough to work on last year.

One of these being a dreamy event in sunny Paris which took place exactly one year ago this week for the ‘Run to Monaco’. The Run To is the finest supercar adventure in the world with their signature adventure being to the Monaco Gran Prix. The finest hotels in the world are selected for their character and personality to host elaborate events accumulating in a wild weekend at the worlds most glamorous race. The glamorous part is of course where we come into things…

The venue in question for last years event was the opulent (and very dreamy!) Hotel Le Marois in Paris. The perfect setting for an immersive 1920s themed party.

Our creative team were tasked with choreographing an elaborate flash mobile performance which was to start in the grounds of the venue during pre dinner drinks moving through the hotels lobby. The performance was to accumulate on the stunning stair case with the dancers leading guests into dinner. We were very excited to get to work on such an exciting brief.

Several of the dancers were sourced in Paris for the event (many of whom had previous worked at the Moulin Rouge and famous Lido) with the reminder of the performers and costumes being provided by The Vegas Show Girls . As we are proud to house one of the UK’s most lavish selections of showgirl costumes this was definitely something we could assist with.

Rehearsals took place in Paris one week prior to the event to ensure that everything was ready for the big day.

Although we were unable to take videos or photographs during the live event we did manage to take rehearsal footage and photographs which we are delighted to share with you. We couldn’t have been happier with the end product an the client was thrilled with the performance.

We are certain that 1920’s themed events will make a big return later this year once a sense of normality has resumed and we look forward to working with you on your events very soon.

Until then why not visit our Great Gatsby/Roaring 20’s page for some more ideas for this fun theme:

A message from our director:

Here we are, 8 weeks into lock down for many….

2020 was set to be such a busy year, jam packed with events celebrating the turn of the century in addition to the many fabulous weddings, celebrations and corporate events that we love providing entertainment for. Who would have guessed that 5 months into the year we would have all be confined to our homes for the past 2 months?

Everyone has had, and continues to have their own journeys during this time. Here at The Vegas Show Girls , although so much uncertainty lies ahead for our industry with the enforced closure of the hospitality, retail and leisure sectors we have tried not to dull our sparkle too much…

We came up with the idea of performing our very own lock down version of one of our high kicking dance routines, Viva Las Vegas. Featuring as many as possible of our fabulous show girls we were thrilled to have 40 of our dancers take part performing from their homes, gardens, conservatories, living rooms and bedrooms!

We also wanted to put our work to good use by raising funds for The Intensive Care Society who’s work is imperative during the corona virus pandemic.

If you haven’t seen our lock down video yet on any of our social media channels you can watch it here by clicking on the link below:

If you have enjoyed watching our dancers in action please take a moment to donate to our chosen charity:

We really cant wait to don our sequins and feathers again in the hope that some sort of new ‘normality’ will return to the events industry soon. Who wouldn’t want fabulous showgirls and dancers at their event after all of this?! The perfect way to celebrate!

Until then, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you on the other side.

Look Fantastic Christmas Campaign

In September 2018 we found ourselves back in front of the camera when our friends at The Gate Films contacted us with regard to an exciting new project.

We had worked with The Gate previously on a commercial for online gaming company 118 Bet back in 2016 so were delighted when we were their first point of call for their new project. This time for a glamorous Christmas commercial for Look Fantastic on behalf of The Hut Group.

Look Fantastic are Europe’s No: 1 beauty retailer and had a very showbiz theme for their 2018 campaign – ‘Take Centre Stage’ – right up our street!

Being no strangers to television work we were excited to provide 7 showgirls, our fabulous aerial silk artiste and 3 other featured artistes for the commercial.

The Vegas Show Girls also supplied all of the showgirl costumes that can be seen in the advert.

Filming took place over 2 days in October at Manchester’s famous Opera House with the advert going live at the end of November. Our showgirls and performers had a great time working alongside the rest of the wonderful cast and creatives.

We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed filming it! We cant wait to see what our next television project will be…

#METOO – Grazia Magazine

Firstly we wanted to say ‘Happy New Year’ to all of our lovely clients and followers – we hope yours was a fabulous and glamorous as ours was…(more of that to follow!)

You may have noticed that we are a little behind with our events blogs. But we still wanted to tell you about a few of the exciting things that have happened in the second half of 2018…

The BIGGEST event of the year was without doubt the arrival our company directors beautiful baby daughter, Isabelle Ivy back in July. Although still a bit small for sequins and feathers we are sure it will only be a matter of time before we have a new showgirl in the making! And congratulations to Emma-Jane and husband Richard on the new addition to their family.

Right up until Isabelle Ivy’s arrival things were as busy as ever in showgirl world.

Something that had dominated the press and industry in 2018 was the #metoo movement. Stemming from the Harvey Weinstein scandal this then seemingly spilled over into the arts and entertainment industry back in January 2018.

The much publicised Dorchester scandal saw a reporter from the Financial Times go undercover as a hostess at the annual charity event at one of London’s top hotels. Upon publishing her findings, things spiralled out of control very quickly within our industry. We saw the banning of Formula One grid girls and darts walk on girls. These jobs and roles were suddenly seen as ‘inappropriate’ and ‘sexist’ – jobs which had been part of the sporting industry for many years. Why this sudden turnaround?

Royal Wedding Blues

If you have the Royal Wedding blues after the unforgettable wedding ceremony of ‘Suits’ actress Meghan Markle and Prince Harry at St Georges chapel at Windsor Castle two weeks ago then hopefully we can help……..

As the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex embark on their future together as man and wife we were thrilled to receive this fabulous (and somewhat emotional) video of a surprise proposal that The Vegas Show Girls were lucky enough to be asked to be a part of last year. And what better day to plan a proposal of this scale than Valentines day?!

With love in the air this Moulin Rouge themed surprise proposal unfolded at London’s famous Cafe De Paris venue.

Draped in red velvet curtains the interior of this iconic venue was the perfect setting for the chosen theme.

Cafe De Paris Moulin Rouge themed Proposal

The couple in question were Ahmed and Jessy. Jessy thought she was being taken for a romantic lunch but Ahmed had much much in store for her than she ever expected!

Setting the scene on arrival our stunning Moulin Rouge themed showgirls adorned in their red and black feathers waited to greet the special couple on arrival with a glass of champagne to get proceedings underway……

The Proposers Mouline Rouge Showgirls Cafe De Paris Valentines Day

Our show girls then lead Jessy to the proposal spot in the centre of the ballroom, where she had a private performance of choreographed routines to a selection of pre selected songs from the movie Moulin Rouge.

The Proposers Cafe De Paris Valentines Day

During this cabaret performance, the Vegas Show Girls opened their feathers to reveal Ahmed on one knee. As Ahmed popped the all important question the show girls let of giant confetti cannons and the rest as they say, is history! Of course she said ‘YES’!

The happy couple then danced in the middle of the ballroom, to their favourite song followed by a private meal in this stunning venue, whilst being serenaded by the Vegas Show Girls.

We are delighted to share the full video of this romantic proposal with you below – tissues at the ready!

Maybe the next Royal wedding might take inspiration from this fabulous and unique proposal?!

A big big thank you to the Proposers who booked our services for this extra special occasion. If you are planning an extra special marriage proposal or are looking for a unique way to pop the big question then you can find them at- https://theproposers.co.uk/ – we cant recommend them enough……

Royal Variety Performance & Happy New Year

Christmas has been and gone and it’s the start of a brand new sparkly year. Our feathers have been washed and hung out to dry and we are gearing up for yet another busy year ahead…….

December was the usual busy and hectic month for The Vegas Show Girls with Christmas parties, tinsel and sequins coming out of our ears (literally!).

Our stunning Show Girls and dancers performed at over 40 events during December covering many of our themes from the Roaring 20’s to Moulin Rouge and Masquerade. We brought in the New Year in style at eight different venues throughout the country from London through to Leicester – what better way to see in 2018 than with feathers and glitter?! New Years Even themes included a ‘Sin in the City’ Las Vegas themed event, A ‘Gold’ themed Party and A ‘Glitter Ball’ party – how glamorous! Our elegant Ballroom dancers also brought in the New Year in true Strictly style gliding across the dance floor at a ‘Hollywood Glamour’ themed party at The Swan in High Wycombe.

But before we got to the crazy month this was December The Vegas Show Girls had the privilege of being invited back for the 3rd consecutive year to be part of the official entertainment line up for the Royal Variety Performance After Show Party at London’s prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel……..

RVP 2017 aftershot at Grosvenor House

This year our showgirls wore the royal colours of red, black and gold feathers to greet Royal Variety Performance guests upon arrival to the after show party. The 2017 Royal Variety Performance took place in London’s glittering West End at the London Palladium and was attended by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate (who unfortunately could not make it to the after show party – now that would have made a good photo opp!). But the stars still came out and the after show party was well attended with the it’s own celebrity line up.

In addition to meeting and greeting guests on arrival and being in big demand for photographs, The Vegas Show Girls had the pleasure of opening the evenings entertainment with a show stopping high kicking performance of their very own. What a night!

If this is an indication of things to come in 2018 then we really can not wait for the year ahead – Happy New Year everyone!

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside!

As the winter nights drawn in, our summer season in the Las Vegas of the North seems like a distant memory…..

But we didn’t want to let the smell of candy floss and fish and chips disappear just yet without telling you all about our glamorous summer shows at Blackpool’s North Pier Theatre this year starring the fabulous Britain’s Got Talent, Ab Fab movie, singing and comedy superstar – La Voix.

La Voix Showgirls blog

Every Saturday night throughout August La Voix’s ‘One night only’ show wowed audiences with effortless live vocals, quick whited comedy and fabulous frocks from this critically acclaimed Diva, supported by the equally fabulous Vegas Show Girls, Va Va Voom Boys and live 8 piece orchestra (plus special guests each week).

Slick, sharp choreographed production numbers featured throughout the show performed to a selection of  iconic songs including ‘One night only’, ‘Proud Mary’ and ‘Putting on the Ritz’  featuring La Voix, The Vegas Show Girls and Va Va Boom Boys.

There was no expense spared on costumes in this glamorous affair with The Vegas Show Girls debuting two of their newest sets of plumes and feathers and the Va Va Voom Boys leaving little to the imagination with their complimenting attire!

La Voix One night only (2)

It was reassuring to see that the good old fashioned variety show was definitely still alive and kicking in Blackpool – in a bigger, better and even more glamorous way than ever. It was event better to be a part of it. We look forward to seeing what 2018 has to hold for La Voix and her wonderfully talented cast.
